INGREDIENTS:
FIBRE: A couple of examples of fibre are alfalfa and beet pulp. Ingredients such as these are incorporated into our premium grade pellets and textured rations to provide ‘digestible fibre’ for a healthy gut and slow release energy.
PROTEIN: The most common examples are soybeans, oats and peas to provide good quality protein with some calories/energy. It is not always the total quantity of protein that is important, rather than the quality, which is determined by levels of amino acids, i.e. lysine, methionine and threonine it contains. Protein is needed to build body cells/tissue and muscle.
OIL: Provides slightly more calories/energy as carbohydrates from cereals, but the energy is slow release and therefore non-heating and can promote stamina when fed in recommended levels. The high quality flaxseed in our rations provide the rich amino acids omega 6 and 3 to promote a healthy coat and skin second to none.
VITAMINS AND MINERALS: The stabilised vitamins along with chelated minerals, which are incorporated into our pellets, textured rations and crunch are carefully formulated and balanced to ensure that your horse receives everything he needs when he is fed recommended levels. ‘Chelating’ is a process whereby minerals are attached to other molecules, such as proteins, simple sugars, etc., to help the body utilise and absorb them more easily.
DIGESTIVE ENHANCER:
This term refers to the ingredient ‘Diamond V yeast’ which is a fully fermented yeast culture and is included in our products to help stimulate fibre digesting bacteria in the hind gut and increases the rate of forage digestion.
